The HKCEC is located on the waterfront of Hong Kong’s world-famous Victoria Harbour – right at the heart of the city, within the Central Business District.

From Hong Kong International Airport:

  • By Taxi (Estimated time: 45 mins)

  • By MTR: Airport Station to Hong Kong Station and switch to Wanchai Station (Estimated time: 40 mins)

  • By Bus: Route no. A11 or E11 to Wanchai and change to route no. 40M to the HKCEC (Estimated time: 80 mins)

From Hong Kong West Kowloon Station (High Speed Rail):

  • By MTR: Walk from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Austin Station, switch to East Rail Line at Hung Hom Station to Exhibition Centre Station (Estimated time: 35 mins)

Official Languages:  
English and Chinese (in practice, Cantonese); Mandarin is widely accepted.

Currency:
The legal tender is the Hong Kong dollar (HK$), which is currently pegged to the US dollar at HK $7.80 to US $1.00, but attendees are encouraged to check around for the best exchange deal.

Transport:
Hong Kong has a sophisticated transport system, comprising Mass Transit Railway (MTR), buses, trains, trams, ferries and taxis, which cover extensive areas of the city and have signs and announcements in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Weather:
Hong Kong is a popular travel destination year-round. The city enjoys a mild climate from the middle of September to the end of February, while the weather from May to mid-September can be hot, wet and humid, with June and August being the wettest months. Electrical:
The standard electrical voltage in Hong Kong is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Most hotel bathrooms also have outlets for 100 volts but, if not, you will need a transformer for your appliances or electrical equipment. Electrical outlets in Hong Kong are in the three-pronged UK-style plug format.
